Mathematics

The Mathematics Faculty at Elderslie High School is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics through engaging and supportive teaching. Our faculty encourages students to develop strong problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and critical thinking abilities that are essential for academic success and everyday life.

We provide a variety of learning experiences designed to challenge and inspire all students, from foundational concepts to advanced mathematical applications. By promoting curiosity and perseverance, we aim to build confidence and enthusiasm in mathematics. Our programs also emphasise collaboration and real-world connections, preparing students for future study and careers in STEM fields and beyond.

 Subjects

Stage 4 - Year 7 & 8 Subjects
  • All students complete the same Mathematics syllabus content
Stage 5 - Year 9 & 10 Subjects
  • All students complete the Core topics. Students in the Advanced Class complete the Pathways topics.
Stage 6 - Year 11 & 12 Subjects
  • Students can select Standard or Advanced Mathematics. Students in the Advanced course who wish to extend themselves further can elect to do Extension 1 and Extension 2.
