Introduction from the CAPA faculty
Welcome to the creative and performing arts (CAPA) faculty! At Elderslie High School, students in Year 7 and Year 8 undertake the study of Visual Arts, Music, Dance and Drama for the whole year. These subjects introduce students to 'the arts,' enabling them to develop their creativity in various fields.
In Year 9, two electives are chosen by students to study for the Stage 5 course. Within the CAPA Faculty, four courses are offered to students: Drama, Dance, Music and Visual Arts. Each course is aimed at developing a student's creative or performing skills in an area of specialisation.
In Year 11 and 12, students have the opportunity to develop or further develop their skills in the Creative and Performing Arts by studying specialised courses: - Music 1 or 2, Visual Arts, Drama, Dance and VET Entertainment.
The CAPA faculty offers the following courses:
Junior subjects – Stage 4 and 5:
- Music (Year 7 - 8 Mandatory)
