Elderslie High School's positive behaviour for learning (PBL) is a school-wide system to help the school community create and maintain a positive school culture. It works by explicitly teaching, recognising and celebrating the values identified by teachers, students and families. PBL aims to increase the opportunities for our students to learn and succeed both socially and academically.
Our core PBL values for students are to be:
- Responsible
- Respectful
- Reflective
All our Year 7 to 12 students will be taught these values explicitly by:
- creating clear examples
- practising during the day
- frequent recognition and encouragement
The following examples relate to all areas of the school:
- Wear our school uniform with pride
- Make learning your priority
- Be prepared; bring all equipment and books
- Be on time to school and classes
- Follow instructions of teachers, staff, captains and prefects
- Keep lessons and school events uninterrupted, phones and devices off.
- Take ownership of your actions
- Accept feedback
- Treat others with kindness
- Use good manners
- Listen to others and respect their opinion
- Respect the property of others
- Keep our school drug and alcohol free
- Keep our school clean
